We're not just training birth workers. We're training culture-makers, because every mother who locks into real support in her first year changes what motherhood looks like for everyone around her.

Village tending is also a return to community joy. It's not just about support, it's about inviting people into your life even when it feels imperfect or messy. It's about showing up for someone you care about, even when it's inconvenient to your own life, and choosing to be there anyway.

Why I Built This

I'm 51. I did the sanctioned path first.

The marriage, the classroom, the boards, the performance of having it together. It handed me back to myself in pieces, the same way it's handing back a whole generation of us.

Twenty years as a birth worker taught me what midlife just confirmed: we were never meant to do this alone.

We know the importance of community, of support, of the joy women are wired to tend and be tended by. We can't rely on the systems around us to build the world we actually believe in. So we build it ourselves.

So I built the village. Here's how you build one too.
